Helpful Camp definitions:

Clay Hand Building - using raw clay, participants will produce their project using their hands, various tools and our own trade "secrets" to produce works of art. Pieces are left with us to dry and be fired into paintable "bisque, or white pre-ceramic" over a period of 3-4 weeks, depending on the project. Projects are either taken home to be painted in their own paints, or, the preferred method, painted with our pottery paints and fired once again into food safe, durable artworks.

Glass Fusing - truly a "something from nothing" project, campers will learn how to layer glass on a base to produce a pleasing design. They'll brainstorm their design and cut and assemble their glass pieces (with some help from us, of course), ready to go into the kiln where the layers will become 1 solid piece of beautiful art.

Dry Brush Painting - this very popular technique involves using many layers of acrylic paints on a figurine or wall art. Project is non-fired, so goes home the very same day.

Glass Mosaic Wall Art - Using glass that has already been heated in our kilns to remove sharp edges, campers will brainstorm their mosaic pattern (with some help from us), glue down the glass to a wooden base, then apply grout in the cracks to create a traditional mosaic.
